"It's certainly come a long way." Gale rummages through some rubble, looking for anything of intrest. "I'm looking for information on Malvagita's Stone and the Synthetic Demons Rand creates. I doubt there's anything left though."

After the long trip, One has failed in being able to save the mother of his friend, Peter. She died before they reached the destination. But One stayed for the burial, and even said a few things himself. But now he was on his way back. From far off, One was able to see the woods that led to the Capital. He packed food before heading back, so he didn't feel at all tired or beat. He made it to the woods and tried to search around quietly for where they might be. He didn't see the Jeep. . he started wondering to himself. . . . .

After a few minutes of fruitless searching Gale sighs. "Nothing. Rand probally got Ayn to total the down just to make sure no one found his lab. I'll have to look for his current one, if it exists. But now we have more imminent problems..." Gale sits down and lights a ciggerate.

One is still looking around, careful not to go to far into the woods, where the angels might find him. He is mostly looking for footprints. It took him a while, but he found the tire tracks from the jeep. One found his own footprints, and another one that he knew belonged to Gale. Another smaller one he figured belonged to Laena and the smallest to Rose. Rose's led deeper into the woods, but Gale's and Laena's seemed to have turns around and disappeared, but they faced the direction where the jeep was held. He figured they left. He followed the tracks out of the woods, but they disappeared there. It didn't take him long to figure out why, the wind was blowing hard and it probably covered up the tracks. One figured they just went to the castle, so he flew the rest of the way to Gale's home.

Laena's sigh is exasperated, but she does not comment on the cigarette. Habits are an interesting phenomenon, and in order to eradicate it, the person must be willing to. |

One arrives and enters the castle. He walks around, trying to find the rest and eventually runs into Rose, who is tending to her wounds. "What happened? Where is everyone?"

"Time runs out for all of us, even the immortals it seems." Gale unsheathes Sin and examines it. "We can keep moving, if you want."

"I can't kill immortals, but I saw what happend after Ayn attacked you. You kept losing blood so fast that you couldn't make enough to regain consciousness. Thus, if I do the same thing, victory is not impossible."

Laena has a seat leaning against a flat slab of rock jutting up from the ground, and sighs slightly. She takes out her staff and looks at the small glowing orb floating above the staff's stip.

Gale sheathes Sin and leans against the jeep. He taps the door with his fingers. He couldn't do much now but wait.

Rose is relieved beyond measure to see One. "Gale told me to go get some data off the Angels, and so I snuck in, pretended I was a hurt human child who got lost. The idiots believed it so I was able to get the data. But then, when I was leaving, they attacked me. I lead them away from Gale, so I dun know where he is. And I got hurt bad." She morphs with ease, exbihiting her mutaliated wing.

One looks down on her with disgust. "You were discovered, and you're not worried? No wonder you pathetic demons fell off. You underestimate your enemies. You'll be found by them. Especially if an Arch gets involved. Hah. Good luck. Now, you got some data on them. Give that to me. I'll stay here with you, waiting for Gale's return. Oh, and don't get any blood on the furniture. You're lucky I'm not making you continue your training in this state you're in, but I'm too tired to do anything right now. So you can rest."

She mutters a muted word of thanks and hands him the disk. Switching back into her human shape, she sits cross-legged on the floor. Her head sags towards her chest and Rose stares very intently at the floor, an unfocused look in her eyes.

The hair on the back of her neck prickles slightly. "They're not very far from here.. We do not have much time."

A needle appears in Gale's hand and his voice echoes through Laena's head as he presses it into his inner ear. "Anyway to make them walk off with you alive?" Gale takes the needle out and presses it into his other ear.

She looks at Gale and the blood pouring out of his ears. "What in the goddesses' name are you doing?" Realizes that he can't hear her anymore, and she shrugs at his question.

Gale would of sighed, but vocal expression was difficult when one could not hear."As expected there is no easy solution. Then fighting is the only thing we can do." Gale paces around, his hand always on Sin's handle.

A loud roar comes from a distance, the roar of loud, angry footsteps. The trees tremble slightly as some are completely torn from their roots, and the ground shakes violently.
Laena stands, her staff in hand. She glances at Gale, wishing he hadn't done his ears in so she could tell him how she felt.... But it's too late now. She turns toward the sound of her sisters approaching quickly. |

Gale also turns around. Despite his lack of hearing, he could sense the aura of the Sirens. The Abbis unsheathes Sin and keeps one eye on Laena.

A large group of Sirens come crashing through the trees, and upon spotting Laena, they quickly surround the ruins by standing in a circle.
One Siren which is larger than the others steps forward, her eyes fixed on Laena. She speaks in their ancient tongue, a chant of some sort. Laena's staff disintegrates in her hands and forms a small pile of dust at her feet. |

For a moment Gale wondered if it was a mistake to temporarilly destroy his hearing, but when he took the fact that anyone one of the Sirens could control him he decieded it was a worthy trade-off. He takes a stance with Sin, keeping an eye on Laena and the Sirens. "I might have found this an amusing situation under diffrent circumstances."

Laena opens her mouth and starts to speak to her sisters in their ancient language.. but within moments she stops speaking, already the speech of the Sirens has vanished from her memory.
The lead Siren waves a hand and a bright blue light surrounds Laena, paralyzing her. |

Having seen enough, the wind suddenly changes in direction of the Sirens and grows in strength.Gale appears infront of the lead Siren's face and slashes once, then kicks her in the face to propell himself back. With any luck, he'd of pissed her off enough to decied to try and kill him before Laena.

The Siren screeches loudly. "Be damned, mortal!!" She sings loudly, unaware that Gale is deaf.
Meanwhile, the process of removing Laena's power has already begun. She falls to her knees in agony, bright red blood seeping from her eyes, nose and mouth. Her hair changes from its usual bright blue to a dirty blonde color. |

Despite Gale worrying about Laena's strange condition, he couldn't help but be amused by what he assumed was screaming or singing directed at him from the lead Siren. He'd have one attack before they'd realize he was deaf and immune to the song. His aura focused in the palm of his left hand and he swiftly outreaches his hand toward the group of Sirens and releases an orb of energy.

The Siren screeches in pain as the energy hits her and explodes in a puff of black smoke.. Her face is badly burned, and she wails something in her language.

Five Sirens, immortal to boot, charging you isn't exactly one of the best things that can happen to you. On the bright side, Gale's plan worked. Unfortunately, getting the Sirens to attack him was also where his plan ended. He decieds to rely on instinct, and he charges at one of the incoming Sirens and slashes at her throat.

The attacking Siren swipes at Sin, attempting to knock it out of his hands.
The blue light disappears, and Laena is on her knees, now a full human. She coughs, and red blood splatters to the ground. The lead Siren now approaches Laena. "Hmph.. So you survived your transformation.. Our text reads that if a fallen Siren survives this and an attempted execution, then she shall have another one hundred years to live.. Her eyes glow red. |

Sin transforms into a gun and the Siren misses with her swipe. He notices that the lead Siren is far to close to Laena, and he curses at himself mentally for making such a mistake as keeping his eyes off of her for a moment. He raises Sin level with the Siren, but to the side enough that he won't hit Laena by mistake. He fires three rounds of Sin as he dives past the Siren he charged and rolls across the groud at to his feet. The warlock was rather proud of yet to be wounded by his foes, but he had a feeling that his luck wasn't going to last long.

The Siren does not seem to notice the bullets ripping through her flesh.. She is instead focused on Laena.
A Siren lunges at Gale and kicks him in the back with an incredible amount of force. |

Gale lets out a cry as he is sent skidding across the ground by the kick. However, the kick manages to get Gale closer to the real Siren. Gale quickly stands and feels pain in his back, something wasn't right with it. Regardless, he turns Sin back into a sword and lunges silently at the lead Siren, attempting to impale her. He'd decieded that she's the most important, and thus the enemy who he should concentrate most on.

The Siren laughs. "Foolish mortal.. Meddling in the affairs of the undying? You shall suffer dearly...." An invisible barrier appears in between Gale and them, if he hits it going at full force there's a good chance he'll break his neck.
Her own staff glows, and at the tip a sharp diamond tip appears. She presses it against Laena's chest, drawing a bit of blood. |
